Account & sync
How do I create an account?
Open OnScale and create an account with a username, email address, and password.
Cloud sync is optional. When it is available in your version of the app, signing in lets you restore your data if you get a new device. You can still use OnScale to log locally if cloud sync is not set up.
Does signing out delete my data?
No. Signing out does not delete your account or your logs.
If cloud sync is on, sign back in with the same account to restore your data. If you want to permanently remove your information, use Delete Account in Profile & Settings instead of signing out.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile & Settings and choose Delete Account. Confirm when prompted.
Deleting your account removes your cloud data (if sync is enabled) and local data on that device. This cannot be undone. Signing out is not the same as deleting your account.
Why isn’t my data syncing?
Check that you have an internet connection and that you are signed in.
Then try closing and reopening the app, or signing out and back in. If logs still do not appear on another device, make sure you are using the same account on both devices.
If the problem continues, email support@onscale.app with a short description of what you expected to see and which device you are using. Please do not send passwords.
Logging & features
How does meal scanning work?
Take a photo of your meal. OnScale uses automated analysis to estimate nutrition, then you review and edit the result before saving it to your log.
Scans are estimates only — they are not lab measurements or medical assessments. Always check the values before you log them.
How does barcode scanning work?
Barcode scan looks up packaged foods in public nutrition databases, including USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts, then lets you review and log the item.
Database matches can be incomplete or out of date. Confirm serving size and macros before saving.
Is OnScale medical advice?
No. OnScale provides educational tracking tools only. It is not medical, dietary, or sports-medicine advice, and it is not a substitute for a coach, registered dietitian, physician, or other qualified professional.
If you are cutting weight, returning from injury, or managing a health condition, talk with your coach and clinician before changing how you eat, hydrate, or train.
Can I use OnScale without the camera?
Yes. You can log food and drinks manually and search nutrition databases without using the camera.
Photo scan and barcode scan are optional Premium tools. Manual logging is enough for day-to-day tracking.
Privacy & safety
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health logs for third-party advertising.
What happens to photos I scan?
Photos you take for meal, drink, or barcode scans are processed to produce nutrition estimates. When you use scan features, image content may be sent to our AI provider so the estimate can be generated.
You choose the photo at scan time using the system camera or photo picker. Manual logging does not send photos for AI analysis. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Who can see my logs?
Your logs are tied to your account. Other OnScale users cannot browse your weight, food, hydration, or workout history.
We may access account information only as needed to operate the service, fix issues you report, or meet legal obligations. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
